Chiropractic Care for Riders & the General Population
Centerline Performance Chiropractic provides mobile chiropractic care for riders and the general population in West Tennessee. Each appointment begins with an individualized assessment to identify joint restrictions, movement limitations, and other musculoskeletal factors that may be contributing to pain, stiffness, or changes in function.
As both a chiropractor and equestrian, Dr. Ashley Himmelsbaugh has a particular interest in the physical demands placed on riders while also providing care for common neuromusculoskeletal complaints unrelated to riding.

Your Movement Matters in the Saddle

Riding places unique demands on the body. A rider must coordinate mobility, stability, balance, and control while continuously adapting to the movement of the horse beneath them.
Restrictions or asymmetries in the rider can influence comfort and function both in and out of the saddle. They may also affect how easily a rider maintains an independent seat, follows the horse's movement, distributes weight, or moves symmetrically from side to side.
As an equestrian myself, I understand the physical demands of riding and can evaluate complaints within the context of what you're actually asking your body to do in the saddle.
Riders commonly seek care for concerns such as:
-
Low-back pain or stiffness
-
Hip pain or restricted hip mobility
-
Neck and shoulder tension
-
Difficulty rotating or bending equally in both directions
-
Feeling consistently shifted or uneven in the saddle
-
Muscular tightness or imbalance
-
Discomfort following falls or previous injuries
-
General soreness associated with riding and training
The goal isn't to force the rider into some mythical version of perfect symmetry. Rather, evaluation can help identify musculoskeletal restrictions and movement limitations that may be affecting comfort, mobility, or function.

You Don't Have to Be a Rider to Be a Patient
While rider care is an important focus at Centerline, human chiropractic services are available to the general population as well.
Chiropractors are trained to evaluate and manage a variety of neuromusculoskeletal complaints involving the spine and extremities. Care is individualized based on your history, examination findings, health status, and treatment goals.

Treatment Techniques
Chiropractic Adjustments
Specific manual adjustments are used when indicated to address areas of restricted joint motion in the spine and extremities. Dr. Ashley's main adjusting technique is Diversified.
Drop-Assisted Adjustments
Drop-assisted techniques may be used to provide a different approach to joint manipulation based on the patient's presentation, comfort, and treatment needs.
Manual Therapy
Hands-on soft tissue techniques may be incorporated when muscular tension or other soft tissue findings are relevant to the patient's complaint.
IASTM
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization may be used as part of treatment when appropriate for soft tissue mobility and rehabilitation goals.
Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology tape may be incorporated when appropriate as an adjunct to the overall treatment plan.
Cupping
Cupping may be used as an adjunctive soft tissue technique when clinically appropriate.
Rehabilitation
Individualized mobility, strengthening, stabilization, or other rehabilitative exercises may be recommended based on examination findings and treatment goals.

When your symptoms or examination findings indicate that chiropractic care isn't appropriate, or that additional evaluation is warranted, referral to another healthcare provider may be recommended.
